RURA briefs public transport operators on code of good conduct for drivers

June 12, 2018: Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) holds a consultative meeting with public transport operators in Rwanda and their drivers to discuss and brief them on code of good conduct for drivers.

In his opening remarks, Emmanuel Asaba Katabarwa, the Head of Transport Regulation department at RURA said the drivers are the backbone of the public transport development, one of the reasons why they have to behave in an orderly manner and give excellent services to the passengers.

“We are here to discuss with you and have a common understanding on this regulation governing the conduct of drivers for public transport vehicles in Rwanda. So, it is important for drivers to take into consideration this code of conduct for the purpose of ensuring a smooth, safe and comfortable journey of passengers,” Said Katabarwa.

This draft regulation outlines the duties and expected behaviour of bus drivers towards passengers on regular bus services.
